Steamed kale recipe

It's so easy to use this steamed kale recipe, anyone can do it! It takes several minutes and transforms the plant that is already regarded as a super food into ... super food squared (that's mathematician in me speaking). I started steaming kale because I noticed how much it is used in macrobiotics and other healthy dietary systems.

Not everyone is fond of eating raw kale , and it loses half of its nutrients during long cooking. Steaming is an ideal way of making maximum of kale's nutrients digestible. It looks appealing, it tastes better, and its nutrients become more bioavailable. Why is this important? Despite wild popularity of the raw food diet, not everyone is able to digest raw food, especially kale that is very high in fiber. Steamed kale is a great alkaline food. My favourite way to steam kale is to put it on top of anything that I am cooking at the moment. This way I don't have to wash an extra pot or steamer and use extra power.

Spraying steamed kale with hemp or flax oil increases Vitamin A absorption because this Vitamin is oil-soluble.
No flax oil? What is hemp oil? Any good oil will do the trick. You can eat your steamed kale with food that contains some fat. You want to derive the most benefits from your kale, don't you?

Steamed kale is a perfect way to prepare kale, but it is not the only one. Another healthy cooking technique highly recommended by macrobiotics is to make pickled kale. And if you own a dehydrator, dehydrated kale chips are much healthier than kale chips roasted in the oven.
